Based in
Newcastle upon Tyne and covering a wide area from the borders of
Scotland, across to Cumbria and down to Teesside. The region works
hard to raise funds to improve the lives of local disadvantaged and disabled children. The
committee meet each month to discuss the appeals and are proud to help
as many requests as possible.
The
Variety at Work Programme offers free entertainment for local children when available. The local theatres and cinemas provide us with complimentary
tickets for hundreds of local children each year to see the pantomime.
Many local schools and youth organisations
now have Sunshine Coaches thanks to the support we receive from
local companies who either attend our fund-raising events or
offer to sponsor a Coach.
Stars in the North East
In recent
months top names have presented Sunshine Coaches on our behalf in the Region. Sir Cliff Richard presented two Sunshine Coaches at the Newcastle
Arena and Dr David Bellamy helped us to present a Coach in Stockton on Tees.
